Accused should get punishment by law not by police – Kodandaram

Hyderabad: Chairman of TJAC, Prof. Kodandaram commenting on the statement made by Mr. KCR on sircilla conflict told that CM’s statement may encourage police officials. He further said that if anyone violates the law, the authority to punish him rests with the court but if police starts punishing such persons, the confidence on police would be lost. It is not befitting for Mr. KCR to treat the victims as non-Dalits.  He further told that among victims, there are Dalits, BCs and Tribals. He termed KCR’s statement as misleading and part of the low standard politics and an attempt to cover-up the facts.

Prof. Kodandaram was addressing a press conference in Hyderabad yesterday. He targeted heavily the functioning of GHMC in allowing unauthorized hoardings at public places. He also criticized that according to the RTI details, in the busiest areas of greater Hyderabad, oversized hoardings have been erected by GHMC for which the corporation is answerable to people. He demanded a probe for the installation of large sized hoardings.
