Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today directed Information Commissioner BP Acharya to make immediate arrangements to provide accreditation cards to working journalists, including desk journalists by June 2, according to Telangana Press Academy Chairman Allam Narayana.
Accompanied by Telangana Media Advisory Committee Chairman K Ramachandra Murthy and members K Srinivas Reddy, Gowri Shankar, Kranthi and others, the Telangana Press Academy Chairman called on the Chief Minister at the camp office.
Speaking to mediapersons later, Allam Narayana said they have submitted a report on journalists’ issues to the Chief Minister, who responded positively saying that he was aware of all the issues of the journalists and offer them better package. Narayana also said the Chief Minister was planning a better package of health cards for scribes on par with government employees. A plan to provide better housing facility to the scribes is also on cards and the process is on, he said.
Narayana said the committee submitted the repot seeking health cards and accreditation cards to all the scribes, including desk journalists. It is likely that the State government will offer accreditation cards to scribes by June 2, he said, adding that the process related to health cards and housing facility is also on. The Chief Minister asked the officials to collect information from the media organizations before issuing these cards to the scribes of Andhra Pradesh working in Telangana State, he said.
