YSR Congress Honorary President YS Vijayamma today demanded that national status should be accorded to the Pranahitha-Chevella project which will be a boon to Telangana region.
Addressing a public meeting at here she said, government has been neglecting this vital project which provides irrigation to seven districts in Telangana besides drinking water to Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts.
YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will be completing the project in record time as the present government has been showing neglect toward the region, she said.
The government is has no concern for the farmers and has not released input subsidy and is indifferent when farmers are committing suicides.
Though the government is talking tall about Sub-Plan dalits and tribals are not benefitted out of it.
Government schemes like Amma Hastham, Rajiv Yuvakiranalu have lost their way and is beneficial not to the intended groups, she said. Though the Chief Minister promised to give employment to 15 lakh youth, nothing is tangible, she said.
YS Vijayamma took the Telangana bastion by storm as TRS had said that it would stop her. Her convoy was interrupted at a couple of places but police arrested TRS workers and she proceeded to Pranahitha.
Senior leader Konda Surekha also accompanied Vijayamma, signaling that she will be playing an active role in the party. (INN)
