Hyderabad: A meeting of the officials of Nizam Trust and the officials of Govt. and Haj Committee was held yesterday to finalize accommodation arrangements in Nizam Rubath in Makkah. Secretary of Dept. of Minorities Welfare, Mr. Syed Omer Jaleel, IAS and Prof. S.A. Shukoor met Nawab Khairuddin Ali Khan, Secretary and Mr. Faiz Ahmed Khan, member of the Nizam Trust. It was decided that quota would be allotted for the family members of Nizam. The Govt. officials assured that action would be taken as per rules. Draw will be held on 10th May. Last year, 678 Haj pilgrims were accommodated but this years, this number had doubled. Three buildings have been acquired to accommodate Haj pilgrims. Out 5251 Haj pilgrims, 1283 would be selected through the draw. These fortunate Haj pilgrims would save more than Rs. 50, 000. Out of 31 districts of Telangana, there are 2596 Haj pilgrims. From Gulbarga, Raichur and Yadgir, there are 572 and from 8 districts of Maharashtra, there are 2083 applications. In this way, draw would be held for 42 districts of Erstwhile Hyderabad State. Three seats would be reserved for Haj volunteers in addition to 20 seats for Mehrams. For Royal family members 10% seats would be allotted.
