Accommodation in Makkah Rubath resolved

The issue of accommodation in Nizam’s Rubath in Makkah has been resolved amicably on Wednesday. The initiative taken by Mr. Syed Omer Jaleel, IAS, Secretary, Department of Minorities Welfare proved successful. A meeting was held in Secretariat yesterday in which the officials of Department of Minorities Welfare and Nizam’s Wakf Committee participated. Nizam’s Wakf Committee conditionally accepted the draw held recently for the allotment of accommodation in Nizam’s Rubath in Makkah. As a result of this Hajj pilgrims of erstwhile Hyderabad State belonging to Azizia category will benefit. This facility was not available to Hajj pilgrims for the past two years due to the rift between Nizam’s Wakf Committee and the supervisor of Nizam’s Rubath in Makkah.

Nizam’s Wakf Committee put a condition that next year draw will be held at its office in which the officials of the Dept. of Minorities Welfare will also be included. Mr. M.A. Basith, former DGP, Mr. Qasim Raza, Secretary, Mr. Faiz Ahmed Khan represented Nizam’s Wakf Committee.

It is learnt from reliable sources that as per the terms and conditions of allotment of accommodation in Nizam’s Rubath in Makkah, only the Hajj pilgrims belonging to poor families are eligible but the present Govt. had included all the Hajj pilgrims of Azizia category in the draw. Since Govt. will have difficulties if objections are raised, Nizam’s Wakf Committee accepted the proceedings of the draw but it put forth two conditions. These conditions will be reviewed by the Dept. of Minorities Welfare and a decision will be taken very soon. Draw for the next year will be held as per the new conditions in order to fulfill the aims and objectives of the Wakf. Govt. of Telangana had entrusted the responsibility of resolving the accommodation issue of Hajj pilgrims to Mr. Syed Omer Jaleel who was successful in resolving it by using his good offices with the Nizam’s Wakf Committee. In this manner, every Hajj pilgrim will be able to save Rs. 46000.
