The Haj Committee of India, keeping in view of the price increase of Rs 42,000 for Green Category pilgrims over the last year, has hired 60,000 Green Category unit accommodations only even as over 70,000 pilgrims have opted for this category. More than 4,000 pilgrims have already opted for downgradation of their accommodation from Green to Azizia category.
AP State Haj Committee chairman Janab Syed Khaleeluddin Ahmed has appealed to all the Green Category pilgrims of the Sate, who wish to downgrade their accommodation category from Green Azizia may do so by sending their requests to the HCI on Fax No. 022-22630461/22620920 or by Email to ceo@hajcommittee.com on or before August 25.
Janab Syed Khaleeluddin Ahmed said that such requests will be considered to the extent of Green Category accommodation available. The difference of money would be refunded to the pilgrims. If there are more applicants in the Green category than the units available, then a separate computerised qurrah will be conducted to decide the allotment of Green category to the pilgrims. He also said all pilgrims selected provisionally from Waiting List and to be selected in future would be allotted on Azizia cateogry only. (NSS)
