Hyderabad: Transport Minister P. Mahender Reddy on Saturday agreed in the State Assembly that accidents at time were occurring due to rash driving by private bus operators.
Replying to a question in the House, the Transport Minister said that the transport authorities were taking firm and deterrent action against rash driving by the drivers and since November last year to February this year 54 permits of buses of private operators have been suspended besides issuing 89 show cause notices to the permit holders.
The Minister further said that 855 vehicles which obtained permits from other states and violated permit conditions were booked and forwarded to respective states. Also 955 cases were booked for absence of second drivers in the buses and drivers working for more than eight hours. (NSS).
