In the wake of the announcement made by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in his May Day message, the State government ordered implementation of Social Security Scheme for “Transport drivers/Home Guards/working journalists” in Telangana State of coverage of Rs Five lakh Accidental Insurance for which Rs Two lakhwill come from the Pradhana Mantri Surakhsha Bheema Yojana (PMSBY) Scheme and Rs Three lakh from the State Government. The entire premium for Rs five lakh accidental insurance for beneficiary covered under the scheme will be paid by the State Government.
The Commissioner of Labour, Telangana will be the Registering Authority and Claim Receiving Authority for “Transport Drivers”, the Home Department will be the Registering Authority and Claim Receiving Authority for “Home Guards” and the Commissioner, Information & Public Relations, Telangana, will be the Registering Authority and Claim Receiving Authority for “Working Journalists” for the Telangana State.
The Commissioner of Labour, Telangana shall select the insurance agency for Accidental Insurance of “Transport Drivers / Home Guards / Working Journalists” for Rs Three lakh coming from the State Government through competitive bidding. (NSS)
