Hyderabad, January 14: All the 20,000 outsourced employees working in the health and sanitation wings of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation have been covered by the Road Accident Policy (Group Personal Accident Policy with Hospitalisation) with immediate effect.
For this the GHMC has reached an agreement with National Insurance Company Limited.
The Bhagyanagar Municipal Employees Union, affiliated to BMS, the recognised union of GHMC employees, had made a representation to the municipal commissioner seeking implementation of the road accident policy (Group Personal Accident Policy with Hospitalisation) to all the outsourced employees working in the H S wings of GHMC. The Standing Committee of the corporation gave its approval.
Payment of 100 per cent of the sum assured under PA section in case of fatality. In case of permanent total disablement/loss of two limbs/two eyes/one limb and one eye, 100 percent of the sum assured under PA Section will be paid. In case of loss of one limb/one eye, 50 percent of the sum assured under PA Section will be paid to the victim.
For reimbursement of hospitalisation expenses up to a sum insured under PA section for medicare taken in hospital subject to production of prescription and bills, about 80 percent of sum insured under PA section and 20 percent of sum insured for hospitalisation expenses section will be paid.
BMEU working president G Mallikarjun, general secretary P Rami Reddy, additional general secretary Vinay Kapoor and other leaders were present at the distribution of policy documents to workers.
