“Accident Free Day” tomorrow

Anurag Sharma, Director General of Police (DGP) of Telangana State today appealed to all the Road users in the State to observe “ACCIDENT FREE DAY” tomorrow by following Traffic Rules and taking all precautions to avoid Road Accidents.

It is disheartening to note that pedestrians and two wheelers account for 50 per cent of total deaths. Similarly, it is also found that 50 per cent of the total deaths are in the age groups of 18 years to 35 years, the DGP said and added that “Let us demonstrate our commitment towards SAFE and Secure Telangana State.

 

The DGP said road safety has become a matter of very serious concern, as India is losing as many as 1,50,000 precious human lives every year. In Telangana State, he said we are losing 7,000 precious human lives every year.

 

Every day, about 20 persons die in 60 Road accidents in Telangana State, the DGP said. (NSS)
