ACB traps Revanth Reddy for trying to bribe MLA for MLC polls

Telugu Desam Party MLA A Revanth Reddy was trapped by the sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly trying to bribe nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson to vote in favour of the TDP candidate in the Legislative Council election to be held on Monday.

The TDP MLA was taken into custody by ACB sleuths when he went to the residence of Stephenson at Pushapagiri Apartments in Vijayapuri Colony in South Lalaguda on Sunday evening with cash of Rs 50 lakh towards bribe to vote in favour of TDP MLC candidate Vem Narender Reddy. According to ACB DSP Ashok Kumar, Revanth Reddy was caught red-handed and has been booked under Section 102. He is being produced before a judge. His Scorpio vehicle (AP09 CV 9939) which was used to bring the cash has also been seized.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari and Commercial Taxes Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav welcomed Revanth Reddy’s arrest and alleged that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had tried to bribe the MLAs of ruling party to win MLC elections.

On the other hand, TDP leaders including L Ramana and Errabelli Dayakar Rao described Revanth Reddy’s arrest as the result of a conspiracy hatched by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. (INN)
