ACB traps 2 officials of AP, Telangana govts for taking bribe

A divisional accounts officer in Adilabad district of Telangana and a district panchayat officer in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh were trapped by ACB today for allegedly taking bribe.

P Kranthi Kumar, working in Rural Water Supply department in Adilabad, was caught red-handed at his residence this morning by ACB sleuths when he was accepting Rs 52,000 from a complainant for clearing his bills, an ACB release stated here.

In another case, A Nagaraju Varma, district panchayat officer working in Vijayawada of Krishna district, was caught at his office when he was accepting bribe of Rs 2 lakh from a complainant for doing an official favour, it said.

Both the cases are under investigation, it said.
