Hyderabad, December 30: The Andhra Pradesh anti-corruption bureau on Thursday unearthed disproportionate assets worth over Rs 2.37 crore belonging to two government employees, including a senior official of the Institute of Preventive Medicine here.
The two govt employees, Alladi Laxminarayana, Assistant Director, Institute of Preventive Medicine and Rajender Reddy, Deputy Executive Engineer of Panchayat Raj, were taken into custody in separate cases by ACB sleuths in neighbouring Rangareddy district.
Acting on a tip-off, ACB officials searched various places including office and residence of Laxminarayana and found disproportionate assets valuing more than Rs 1.5 crore.
Preliminary probe showed that Laxminarayana was himself involved in money lending business and the transactions relating to it are being verified, sources said.
Earlier, ACB carried out searches in Rangareddy, Nalgonda, Mahabubnagar and Hyderabad districts and unearthed disproportionate assets worth over Rs 1.32 crore belonging to Thandra Rajender Reddy, working at Pargi.
