The dual air tragedies that Malaysian Airlines witnessed this year are reportedly being blamed on the national airline’s neglect of Islamic ways.
According to News.com.au, in a controversial opinion piece on news portal Sinar Harian, National Defence University of Malaysia lecturer Ridhaun Tee Abdullah said Malaysia Airlines should adopt more conservative uniforms and stop serving alcohol on flights.
He criticized the airlines staff for their revealing uniforms that exposed too much skin and said that “local” travellers were more likely to consume alcohol than tourists already “drowned” in spirits in their home countries, the report said.
Praising the Royal Brunei Airlines, Abdullah urged Malaysia Airlines to learn from its rival and adopt Islamic practices in-flight.
The airline has been losing huge amounts of money on a daily basis in the wake of the mysterious disappearance of MH370 and the downing of MH17 by pro-Russian rebels in Ukraine.
Remains of 289 of the 298 people aboard the Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 have been recovered up till now.
