ACA releases Telugu version of coaching manual

President of the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) DV Subba Rao and General Secretary G Ganga Raju released the Telugu version of the National Cricket Academy’s (NCA) Coaching Manual, at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Andhra Cricket Association here yesterday. According to an ACA release, Subba Rao, who chaired the meeting, lauded the efforts of Raju in bringing out the book in the larger interests of coaches imparting training to players in the districts, despite their inability to follow English language in which a wealth of knowledge is available in their profession. Speaking on the occasion, Ganga Raju reiterated that the book would be of immense use to those coaches who are unable to follow English language. He said many talented and interested coaches are unable to succeed in their profession because of the language problem and in future an examination will be conducted in Telugu and coaches will be recruited basing on their performance in it. All the members have expressed their happiness over the release of the book and congratulated those who were involved in bringing it out, the release added. Dr Ganga Raju had promised that the Telugu version of NCA Coaching manual would be released soon. He entrusted the job to the Director, Cricket Operations, ACA, and former national cricketer MSK Prasad. MSK Prasad, in turn, took the assistance of Surapaneni Rama Krishna, who is a BCCI Panel Umpire and who has already translated the ‘MCC Laws of Cricket’ into Telugu. Rama Krishna has worked hard for one year as per the directions of the Director and finally submitted the proof to ACA and BCCI. Both BCCI and NCA have approved the Telugu version of the coaching manual and appreciated ACA for having come up with such a wonderful effort in taking the game to the grass roots level. MSK Prasad thanked the management of ACA which agreed to take up such a generous project. He also appreciated the efforts of Rama Krishna who has toiled for the last one year to bring out the manual.
