ABVP bandh evokes total response in State

Hyderabad: ABVP-sponsored bandh of private and corporate schools for fee regulation evoked total response on Friday.

In a press note here this evening, Telangana ABVP unit leader Ambala Kiran said many schools came forward to shut down the schools in the State, which were started just a week ago. He also questioned Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rai’s promise of closing down corporate schools in Hyderabad for collecting an exorbitant fee from children of common man and failure of the Education Department to control the fee mafia.

Pointing out that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy brought new schemes for fee regulation and implementing the Right To Education Act, he bemoaned that Chief Minister KCR failed to do so. He also demanded that the government fill MEO, DEO, and HM posts and take up construction of 119 BC welfare hostels. He also demanded that the government immediately release over 500 ABVP activists arrested on eve of the bandh otherwise the ABVP would launch protests in the coming days.
