Hyderabad, February 18: Upset over the alleged insult at the hands of Mahabubnagar district Collector Purushotham Reddy, a Telangana Praja Front state committee member knocked at the doors of the State Human Rights Commissioner (SHRC) seeking recourse.
Talking to media persons at the SHRC, TPF member Haneef Ahmed claimed that Mahabubnagar district Collector Purushotham Reddy had pushed him and his three associates out of his office and showered abuse on the visitors.
Mr Haneef Ahmed said that he had, along with his associates Venkat Ramulu, Ramakrishna and Nagaraju gone to meet the Collector to seek grievances of their problems on February 14.
He claimed that the four were made to wait outside his chambers for hours. When they were finally summoned inside, the Collector received a telephone call. What transpired between the caller and the Collector was unknown, but it ended up with the latter losing his cool.
The Collector turned his rage towards his visitors and shoved them out of his office. Besides, he also used the choicest of abuse on the four perplexed visitors, Mr Haneef Ahmed claimed.
“Purushotahm Reddy has caused me to undergo mental depression and harassment, besides insulting me to such an extent that I can never forget. I have lost my reputation among my colleagues. The Collector needs to be punished for his highhandedness. This is the reason for me to approach the SHRC,” he said.
I hope the SHRC directs the Mahabubnagar Two Town Police station to register my complaint and book a case against the Collector,” Haneef Ahmed pointed out.
