Lucknow, December 08: Extradited underworld don Abu Salem was today produced before a local CBI court in connection with a fake passport case.
CBI magistrate Ranjeet Verma fixed December 13 as the next date of hearing.
Salem was brought here from the Arthur Road Jail Mumbai, where he is presently lodged.
According to the prosecution, he had acquired a fake passport from the Lucknow passport office in 1993 and had subsequently fled the country.
After his extradition from Portugal, the proceedings in the case started in the Lucknow CBI court and presently statements of witnesses are being recorded.
