New Delhi, July 01: An alleged sharp-shooter of Abu Salem gang was arrested in the national capital, police said today.
Mohd Akram Siddiqui, who was declared a proclaimed offender in a case of extortion and attempt to murder in Mumbai, was apprehended by Crime Branch, Additional Commissioner (Crime) Neeraj Thakur said.
He was residing in Lado Sarai under a fake identity.
The arrest came yesterday after police received an input that he would come near Lado Sarai Bus Terminal in Mehrauli.
“Siddiqui was a part of Salem’s network of sharp-shooters and hardcore criminals in India, who assisted him in his criminals activities while Salem himself was abroad,” Thakur said.
He used to live with one Sanjay in Naini in Allahabad.
“Sanjay used to get directions from Salem who used to extort large amounts of money from builders, film fraternity, jewellers etc.
