ABTMM calls nation to switch off lights for half-an-hour tomorrow

The Akhil Bhartiya Terapanth Mahila Mandal (ABTMM) is launching “Save Electricity” campaign (Virat Amar Ujala) on October 18 all over the country.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Thursday, Sri Jain Swetamber Terapanth Mahila Mandal president Pushpa Baradia and project chairpersons Madhu Ranka and Rita Surana have appealed to the masses in the entire country to switch off lights for half-an-hour from 7 pm to 7.30 pm on October 18 so that the people would be able to save electricity and also develop the habit of saving electricity, which is a basic necessity. They pointed out that while sources to produce electricy are limited, the demand for power is increasing day after day. “Therefore, it is our moral responsibility to save resources for future generations. This can be done only by inculcating a habit of saving electricity”, they added.
The ABTMM leaders said Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy released a banner in this connection. Besides, APCPDCL chairman & managing director G Raghuma Reddy appreciated the Save Electricity campaign and assured total support, they added. (NSS)
