Abolish “Jogin” system – CPM

Hyderabad: Telangana State Secretary of CPM, Tammineni Virabad who is on a 52-day Padyatra in support of Minorities, SCs, STs and BCs wrote a letter to CM demanding the abolition of “Devadasi” system. In his letter, he pointed out that capitalists are violating SCs, STs act of 2014 and forcing the girls to become “Jogins”. He demanded the Govt. to sanction Rs. 1500 for every “Jogin” and Rs. 2500 for every handicapped person. They should also be given 2 bedroom flats, land for cultivation and preferential treatment in Govt. jobs. He also demanded the Govt. to sanction loans to such persons on priority basis from SCs corporation.
