Sending a letter to Congress president Mrs. Sonia Gandhi, Chairman State Minority Commission Mr. Abid Rasool Khan demanded one Loksabha seat each from Telangana and Seema-Andhra to Muslims, and assembly seats in both the regions proportionate to their population.
Mr. Abid Rasool Khan claimed that minorities have played an important role in bringing Congress party to power hence it is also the responsibility of Congress party to do justice to Muslims. As Chairman Minority Commission he has conducted socio-economic survey of Telangana and Seema-Andhra regions and has identified areas with 40-60 pc population of minorities. There are many constituencies where Muslims have a decisive number of votes.
