New Delhi, January 16: India’s only Individual Olympic Gold medalist Abhinav Bindra has been frustrated with the attitude of shooting federation and wants to quit the shooting.
The ace shooter believes that the way for shooting federation officials are behaving and misusing powers, he doesn’t see future in the game.
The world champion, who clinched the historic Olympic gold medal in the 10m air rifle event at the 2008 Beijing Games, is tired of being at loggerheads with the National Rifles Association of India (NRAI).
The 27-year-old shooter said that the way National Rifles Association of India (NRAI) has been behaving and its apathy towards the players convinced him there was no future in the game.
Bindra said that the NRAI wants him to turn up for regular trials in India, irrespective of his international results.
Miffed with the NRAI attitude, Bindra said: “The present situation has been very upset for me and does not leave me with much motivation.”
Just before the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, Bindra’s frustration has put the shooting Federation on backfoot. It will be interesting to see what step would be taken against Bindra after this statement.
Meanwhile, the NRAI has snubbed Abhinav Bindra for his attack on the shooting federation.
