Jammu, April 16: “ABHI to main jawaan hoon” were the first words of Farooq Abdullah, Union minister and former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister, after he was discharged from a Jammu hospital following a complaint of uneasiness and vomiting on Friday.
According to the doctors, it was a minor gastric problem.
Farooq, 73, was taken to the Gandhi Nagar provincial hospital and his son Omar Abdullah, the current state chief minister, soon rushed over.
Farooq, who was put on a drip, was discharged within three hours.
He said: “ I vomited and was brought to the hospital. Now I’m feeling better. The problem was minor.” The doctors have advised Farooq not to fly to New Delhi, so he will stay in his home in Jammu’s Bhatindi area for a day.
Farooq was in town to attend the marriage of a close relative of Union health minister Ghulam Nabi Azad.
Azad also rushed to the hospital to meet him.
Madhu Khullar, hospital medical officer, said Farooq was suffering from dehydration caused by a gastric problem.
