Panchkula/New Delhi, December 31: SPS Rathore’s troubles multiplied today with Ruchika’s family filing a case of abetment to suicide against him and CBI also mulling a similar charge while the molestation victim’s brother demanded that the ex-Haryana DGP be put behind the bars.
Breaking his silence and coming out in the open, Ashu Girhotra, brother of Ruchika, filed a complaint before Haryana police seeking filing of case against 67-year-old Rathore under the stringent Sec 306 (abetment to suicide charge) for which the maximum imprisonment is 10 years.
On a day of fast moving developments, Ashu alleged he was subjected to third degree police torture personally supervised by Rathore and the family harassed by him that drove his 14-year-old sister to commit suicide.
Ashu filed the complaint-the third by the family this week- before the Superintendent of Police(Panchkula) Manish Choudhry and the police said they are seeking legal opinion.
