The installation of latest advanced Digital Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machine at the Abeer Medical Center was inaugurated by Dr. Mahira Alungal, Executive Director of Abeer Medical Group here on Tuesday. The inauguration ceremony was held at the Abeer Medical Center, Bawadi, Jeddah, K.S.A.
Dr. Jemshith Ahmed Vice-President, Strategic Planning of Abeer Medical Group said that the machine is top of the line machine which will be an important tool for the doctors in the unit and the region to aid in proper clinical management. Dr. Ahmed also explained that for reporting the scans, Abeer has tied up with a teleradiology platform which has an impressive array of consultant radiologists trained in the west.
Mr. Jayan Vice-President, Projects and Business Development of Abeer Medical Group said that MRI facility will go a long way in providing quality healthcare service to the people of Jeddah. This is part of the 4 MRI units that Abeer is planning to commission in this year, added Mr. Jayan.
Dr. Mohammed Farsi, Corporate Medical Director said that the nerves, brain, and spinal cord, as well as muscles, ligaments, and tendons are seen much more clearly with MRI than regular x-ray and CT scan for that reason MRI is regularly used to image knee and shoulder injuries.

Mr. Ashraf Mohammad, Facility Director said that the MRI system, manufactured by Siemens, Germany is patient friendly and it takes less time.
