Abdul Qadeer sees Justice Katju as a ray of hope

Languishing in jail for 22 precious years of life, away from wife, children, parents and siblings is not an easy road. Ex-constable Abdul Qadeer has become old. Diabetes has made his bones fragile. One of his legs had to be amputated due to gangrene. He wishes to spend his remaining life with his family members.

Editor Siasat Mr. Zahed Ali Khan undertook the task of releasing the unfortunate prisoner. Taking advantage of the Urdu Heritage Caravan, he informed the secular and justice loving personality of India Mr. Markande Katju about Abdul Qadeer agony. Justice Katju too wants Abdul Qadeer to be forgiven and released keeping in view of his old age and disability.

Abdul Qadeer told that he has learnt through newspapers that justice Katju has written a letter to governor and chief minister requesting his release. The news has kindled a ray of hope for Abdul Qadeer. He also thanked Mr. Zahed Ali Khan for his efforts.

‘Even your shadow leaves you in times of darkness’, the same holds true for Abdul Qadeer as he says people hesitate to meet him when he comes home on parole. Even the GHMC rag-picker doesn’t knock at his door to collect garbage.
