Abdul Alaam who works in Al Jazeera TV in Qatar

Abdul Alaam studied and was brought up in Malaysia since the age of 4 years. While being proficient in English and Malay language Abdul Alaam was far away from his mother tongue Urdu. However Abdul Alaam son of Dr. Muhammad Mumtaz Ali (professor in Islamic University Malaysia and Dr. Zeenat Kausar (Associate professor Islamic University) overcame this drawback and learnt Urdu day and night, now he is counted among the noted poets of Urdu in Qatar.

His maternal grandfather Maulana Maqbool Ahmed Jama’ai was Khateeb in Masjid Eikminar Nampally. He was the right hand of Imamul Hind Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. His paternal father was also imam of Bada Bazar Masjid. Before trying his hands on Urdu pottery he wrote more than 30 poems in English.

32-year-old Abdul Alaam is online news coordinator at the office of Managing Director of famous Aljazeera TV Channel. Despite being on a key post in English news channel he is associated with several literary and welfare organizations. The young journalist lauded the community services of Siasat.
