Abductors demand ransom to release two boys

Saharsa, August 17: Abductors have demanded Rs 10 lakh and Rs 5 lakh respectively to release two boys, Abdullah (10) and Md Mujahidul Islam (15), kidnapped from Bihar’s Begusarai and Saharsa district on August 13, police said today.

Abductors of Abdullah, son of Md. Salauddin of Saidpur village of Begusarai district left a leaflet outside his residence yesterday, demanding a ransom of Rs 10 lakh.

Following this, Superintendent of Police Vinay Kumar visited Abdullah’s house and inquired about the case.

Abdullah had gone missing after going to play in a nearby field on August 13 and his brother lodged a complaint about this with Matihani police station.

Meanwhile, Saharsa district police have taken two people into custody for interrogation in connection with the kidnapping of Md Mujahidul Islam, son of Md. Rafiul Hoda, an employee of Land Consolidation office.

Islam’s father lodged an FIR with Sadar police station about his missing son on August 14. He received a call in his cellphone on August 15 by his abductors demanding a ransom of Rs 5 lakh failing which his son would be killed.

Speaking from adjoining Munger district, the kidnappers had allowed Islam to talk to his family members, police said.

Superintendent of Rajesh Kumar has constituted a special task force.
