Abductor leaves child at temple

Porayar, January 02: A four-year-old child, who was allegedly kidnapped by his teenaged neighbour at Sirkazhi near here, was let off by him at Lord Nataraja temple in Chidambaram today, police said.

Gautham (4), son of Kaliaperumal of Keezhasangamedu near Sirkazhi was allegedly kidnapped by Arunkumar (15), a neighbour on December 30 and released him at Chidambaram, 20 km from here.

Both police and family members of the child launched separate search operations. Police said they noticed the child crying inside the temple, amid a heavy rush of devotees in view of ”Thiruvathirai” festival today.

The boy told them that Arunkumar and another person had brought him to the temple after blindfolding him, left him there and gone away. Police informed their counterparts in Sirkazhi, who sent the boy to his parents.
