Abduction drama at Saidabad

Hyderabad, June 18: Two children were abducted and later let off by an unidentified woman at Singareni Colony at Saidabad on Wednesday. One of the girls was released immediately but the other girl was relieved of her gold and silver ornaments and later left at Rein Bazar in the Old City. The two girls – Nikitha (4) and Navya (5) – were playing near Singareni Colony when they were approached by a woman, aged around 25. “The woman convinced the children that she would buy chocolates and biscuits for them and took them away,” Saidabad police inspector G Srinivas said.

Nikitha is a resident of Champapet and she came to her cousin, Navya’s house at Singareni Colony on Wednesday.

The woman left Navya at the Indraprastha Colony in Saidabad soon after but took away Nikitha as she was wearing gold and silver jewellery.

Locals saw Navya crying in the locality and took her to her parents at Singareni Colony. “Akka (referring to the kidnapper) told us that she would buy biscuits and took us away. She left me there (Indraprastha Colony) and took away Nikitha,” Navya told the police.

After some time, the woman left Nikitha also at Rein Bazar in the Old City. “Nikitha was relieved of her gold ornaments and a onetola silver ring,” Srinivas said.
