Aasha workers and Anganwadi workers may come into the purview of Provident Fund, said Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya.
Speaking to media persons here on Monday, Dattatreya said that in addition to State Bank of India and other nationalised banks, the Private Sector banks were also allowed to handle the PF Funds. With the zero transaction charges, about 350 Crore rupees were saved, he disclosed.
“Prime Minister Modi’s Government at the Centre is according top priority to labour sector, the Minister added. Employers can get registration of establishment online. EPF pensioners when they enrolled digitally with the Jeevan Pramaan web portal, it would facilitate to receive the pension either through banks or through post offices,” Dattatreya reminded.
He also said that a scientific policy is needed to help Sheep farming community and Toddy workers, he said. The Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has chalked out plans to set up new hospitals in Telangana State. The ESIC is going to upgrade the hospital in Nizamabad to 50 bed level, he revealed. It also envisages to upgrade some existing hospitals in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states. He appealed to the Chief Ministers of both the Telugu States to allot the lands required for this purpose. He said 1.20 crore members registered in the ESIC throughout India, he said.
Dattatreya also said that 2.76 Crores of sapplings are to be planted in three years time under the Haritha Haaram programme in Telangana state. However, he said that the response is not as desired. Providing the Tree Guardians is also important, he said. Active participation of people and Non-Governmental Organisations in this programme is needed to attain good result.
The quantum of investment in Exchange Traded Funds (ETF) for the Financial Year 2017-18 would approximately be Rs.22,000 Crores. As on 30th June, 2017, total amount invested is Rs. 24,980 Crore, the Union Minister said. The market value being Rs. 28,115 Crore, the absolute return is 12.55% as on date, he added. Those workers who are not registered for the Social Security cover were given an opportunity from January 2017 to June 2017, to register their names for the same, the Minister said.
