Telugu cine actress Aarti Aggarwal died of heart attack on Saturday at New Jersey in the USA. She was 31.
Her manager Uma Sankar said Aarti died due to obesity and pulmonary-related ailments. She suffered cardiac arrest and died at around 12 noon (IST) in New Jersey, where she has been residing there of late.
Aarti acted in some 20 movies with all top stars like Chiranjeevi, Venkatesh, Nagarjuna, Mahesh, Prabhas and Tarun. Her career started slumping after her love affair with a young star and she even tried to commit suicide by consuming toilet cleaner. Her drunken brawls in pubs too contributed to her downfall. Her film with Venkatesh ‘Nuvvu Naku Nachavu’ was a super hit. She also acted in Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam movies. She quit acting after getting married to an NRI Ujjwal. She was currently acting in a movie called ‘Neelaveni’, which is incomplete. Hindi film ‘Paagalpan’ was her first movie, while ‘Nuvvu Naaku Nachchavu’ was her first Telugu movie.
Aarti was married to Ujjwal Kumar, Gujarati NRI in 2007 at a simple ceremony in Arya Samaj Mandir, Raniganj, Secunderabad. (NSS)
