Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will run a campaign against exorbitant fee in schools. A public meeting comprising parents would be held here on May 11 at 10 am, Press Club Basheer Bagh, to discuss issues about the fee structure in private schools. Formation of parents union on state level is being mulled over.
Addressing a press conference here Prof. P.V. Vishweshwar Rao, spokesperson, AAP, Telangana said as per Right To Education Act, it is compulsory to provide education to every child aged between 6 to 14 years and it is their right. But due to non-implementation of the Act in private schools several students are deprived of education. The State government should also implement GO 42 issued in 2010 from the current academic year to regulate fee, he added.
“We are working to gather parents to discuss about the large amount of fee being charged in private colleges. Not a single resolution was passed by the State government on these issues,” Prof. Rao stated.
