AAP terms Uri attack ‘failure of Modi diplomacy’

New Delhi: Hitting out at the Centre over the Uri attack that left 17 soldiers dead, the AAP on Sunday said the assault was the result of “grave failure” of diplomacy and someone has to take responsibility for it.

Condemning the attack, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said India cannot be “cowed down” by such incidents. “This is a difficult time. The army still has the best means (to deal with such situation), but this is a grave failure of diplomacy. Someone should take responsibility for it,” Deputy Chief Minister and senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia said.

Delhi Water Minister Kapil Mishra demanded a “national mourning” be declared at the loss of 17 soldiers.

Taking a swipe at the Narendra Modi government, Mishra questioned whether it is the “NDA government or NiNDA (condemnation) government.

He was referring to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh’s statement in which he had condemned the attack. Attacking the Defence Minister, AAP leader Ashutosh said when the attack took place, Manohar Parrikar was in Goa.

“Same was the case when the Pathankot terror attack took place and Ordnance factory got gutted,” he said.
