AAP protests over Moga molestation incident

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday protested against the Moga incident, wherein, a 13-year-old girl was thrown off a moving bus after being molested.

“We are protesting here by burning Sukhbir Singh Badal’s effigy. This family is not being given justice. The FIR is not being registered against the company.

The permit of the bus company should be cancelled,” Jassi Jasraj ( AAP), a protestor told ANI here.

The protestors also targeted Union Minister of Food Processing Industries Harsimrat Kaur Badal, demanding that an FIR be lodged against her.

“When a rape took place inside a taxi in Delhi, there was an FIR lodged against the owner of the taxi company. This company is owned by Harsimrat Kaur Badal. Just because she is a minister in the Modi Cabinet, does that mean an FIR cannot be lodged against her? This is our demand,” said another protestor.

“I would like to ask Prime Minister Narendra Modi if he can ban Uber Taxi, why can’t he ban the Orbit Bus Service?” he added.

On Friday, Sukhdev Singh, who lost his teenage daughter in the Moga bus incident, appealed for justice and handing out of strict punishment to the culprits.

“I just want justice. Whoever did that to my wife and daughter must be punished. I don’t want any money, I just want justice,” said Singh.

“If I don’t get justice, what will I do with Rs 20 lakh? They have offered me a job and Rs 20 lakhs, but I don’t want that. I just want justice,” he added.

The 13-year-old girl died after she and her mother were allegedly pushed off a moving bus after being molested on April 29.

Locals rushed the two to a nearby hospital where the girl was pronounced dead. The incident took place on a highway connecting Moga and Bathinda.

As per reports, four people, including the bus driver and his attendant, have been arrested.

The bus reportedly belongs to Orbit Transport Company, owned by Orbit Aviation Pvt Ltd, which is co-owned by Punjab Deputy Chief Minister

Sukhbir Singh Badal.

The police have impounded the bus. (ANI)
