AAP party gets chance for proper governance over Delhi

New Delhi: The Apex Court’s verdict minimizing Lt. Governors powers in Delhi and granting the elected government-AAP party powers over administration has finally ended the months-long tussle between Centre and State elected legislatures.

Delhi CM Kejriwal and his cabinet Ministers had also staged Dharna at LG’s office some weeks ago over the non-cooperation by the bureaucrats, TOI reported.

The AAP government stated Delhi’s Governance is widely affected and is suffering due to non-cooperation by the Bureaucrats.

Following the Dharna by CM Kejriwal, the Delhi high court established the Lieutenant Governor the sole administrative head of the Delhi without requiring him to act on the Delhi cabinet’s advice which was contrasted by
Supreme Court yesterday, which said only exceptional circumstances called for referring a dispute to the President and that LG “should not act in a mechanical manner without due application of mind”.

With AAP government now free to work over the administration of Delhi it will head in the right direction, with no more interferences by any Bureaucrats, to tackle capital’s serious issues like pollution, water scarcity and others.
