AAP leaders meet Rajnath, complain against Delhi Police

New Delhi, July 23 (ANI): The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh at the North Block here on Thursday and briefed him about the police inaction with regard to the recent events in the national capital.

AAP leader Kumar Vishwas told the media after the meeting that they handed the video proof and a letter regarding what happened with the party’s Delhi unit convener Dilip Pandey on Tuesday near the Rajinder Nagar Police Station.

“The Home Minister told that he was already aware of Pandey’s case. And since we have come to him, he said that he would talk to more people regarding this case,” he added.

Vishwas said that they also discussed the murder of a teenage girl Meenakshi in the national capital’s Anand Parbat area.

“On the one hand, the Centre launches ‘selfie with daughter’ campaign, on the other hand a girl is cruelly murdered in broad daylight in Delhi. Delhi public is finding the police’s investigation dubious as they could find only one witness,” Vishwas said.

“Our workers were beaten up for protesting over the Anand Parbat case is another issue that we spoke to the Home Minister. It was a cruel act to beat the workers, who had gone to protest for Delhi’s daughter,” he added.

The AAP leaders had yesterday met Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung and Delhi Police Commissioner B.S. Bassi. The meeting took place a day after the AAP alleged that a police van had tried to run over Pandey near the Rajinder Nagar police station. (ANI)
