AAP Assembly nominee pays 20,000 coins of 50 paise for security deposit

In an attention-seeking exercise, Rohit Gor, Aam Aadmi Party’s candidate from Abdasa Assembly constituency of Kutch district, submitted 20,000 coins of 50 paise each, as deposit while filing his nomination papers for the by-polls.

“Rupee’s value has been falling due to the corrupt policies of the Congress and the BJP. Both these parties see the common man as worth not more than 50 paise. So I performed this symbolic exercise,” Abdasa candidate Rohit Gor said.

Gor, who was yesterday replaced by Savajrajsinh Sodha, is set to take on Shaktisinh Gohil of the Congress and BJP’s turncoat candidate Chhabil Patel.

“As 50 paisa has not remained a visible currency, similarly, the common man is not visible in the system,” Gor said.

“The government policies are not made keeping the common men in centre, so they do not remain the part of this system,” Gor said.

“AAP has always been raising the issues of the common man from every platform. So while filing the nomination, he raised the issue of common people in such a symbolic way,” party spokesperson Harshil Nayak said.
