Aamir to open acting school for village kids

Mumbai, August 03: If all goes well, the perfectionist Khan would soon be sharing acting tips with kids of village Bhadwai, where Peepli Live was shot. The idea has been proposed by villagers themselves. Realising the potential of film industry, the villagers felt that their kids should be introduced to the related stories

basics of filmmaking. They have sent a request to Aamir for starting an acting school for their children in the village itself. The request has been forwarded to Mahmood Farooqui, co-director of PL, reports Mid-day.

Before filming in the village, Mahmood had made a 15-minute short film along with Raghubir Yadav and a few other members of the cast on a handycam. He had then shown it to the sarpanch of Bhadwai and the rest of the villagers assuring them that they would shoot Peepli Live in the most non-invasive way possible.

A source says, “The villagers’ request surprised Aamir. However, he realised their request was genuine and that the children were keen on learning the nuances of film making.”

He then got in touch with Mahmood, who’s in charge of taking the request forward. Farooqui confirms, “Yes, Aamir Khan Productions has informed me of this request. We would love to have an acting school for the kids. I will definitely work on this with them.”
