Mumbai: Bollywood star Aamir Khan is likely to be the brand ambassador of ‘Jalyukt Shivar’ project, an initiative by Maharashtra Govt to make the state drought-free.
The move by the Bharatiya Janata Party-led state government to get the star on board to partner for one of its flagship schemes, comes less than three months after actor found himself in the middle of an ‘intolerance debate’.
According to reports, Khan and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis are expected to make a joint announcement of the initiative at the government guesthouse on Wednesday.
Earlier, following the actor’s controversial comments on the issue of intolerance, the BJP government ended his contract as the brand ambassador for the ‘Incredible India’ campaign. (ANI)
