It seems that government has decided to take revenge from Aamir Khan by throwing him out of all government’s social campaigns after he made statement on ‘intolerance’
After being replaced as the brand ambassador of the Incredible India tourism campaign, Bollywood star Aamir Khan has now been dropped from government’s mega road safety campaign.
According to a report in The Telegraph, Aamir Khan has been dropped from a road safety drive, apparently over ‘intolerance’ controversy.
Inspired with the Aamir’s TV talk show, Satyamev Jayate called ‘Road Accidents or Murders?’, the Union minister Nitin Gadkari personally approached Aamir and made him as the brand ambassador for the road safety campaign in December 2014.
An official attached to Gadkari’s office was quoted as saying. “Since the ministry was already looking to launch a countrywide campaign to spread awareness on safe practices on the road, Aamir seemed the best choice to be its face.”
Interestingly, Aamir Khan agreed to feature in ads for the road safety campaign for free of cost.
“After Aamir’s comment on ‘intolerance’ issue, the ministry decided to choose somebody else in his place,” said the official.
