Aam Aadmi Party takes out auto rally in Kurnool

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) ratcheted up its campaign in Kurnool with an auto rally that carried the party’s message to different parts of the city. The rally was led by the party’s Lok Sabha candidate Vissa Kiran Kumar, and the Assembly candidate Aziz Rahi. The rally started at 9 am from Jammi Chettu and meandered its way through One Town, Poola Bazaar, Old Bus stand, Konda Reddy Buruju, Raj Vihar Circle and culminated at the Collectorate. The candidates addressed the media at the Collectorate and articulated their vision of governance and also conveyed the mood of the people.
The rally saw the participation of about 30 auto rickshaws, decked with party flags and the party symbol “broom”. In a sign of changing times, the rally itself was the idea of a few people who ride the auto for a living. The act of sweeping the streets by the candidates, symbolizing a call to sweep clean the existing political setup, has impressed many.
People remarked “One can see in the act the genuineness and the commitment of the Aam Aadmi Party candidates to serve the people. We trust them that they are not out there to grab power”.
Others were impressed that “We don’t see any air-conditioned SUVs but see the candidates walking the whole length of the rally on foot. We are delighted and confident that if elected he would continue to walk among us in the same way”
Addressing the people at the historic KondaReddy Burj, Vissa Kiran Kumar said “The first capital of Andhra, Kurnool is in pathetic state. Those who are responsible such state of affairs are current political leaders who are busy with their illicit businesses and making another billion. They do not care about us, the people. It is unfortunate that we in Kurnool, situated between two rivers, are not assured of even drinking water. Thousands of crores earmarked for Kurnool are being siphoned off by our current rulers.
The same set of corrupt people, but under a new symbol, or wearing robes of another color are in the fray. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was floated with the objective of eradicating corruption and the loot and bringing in good governance. We in AAP consider ourselves as servants of the people and are committed to the welfare of all sections of the society. I therefore urge you to elect those who are honest and are committed to the welfare of all of us.”
