Nearly 9000 applications have been submitted online so far under the Self Employment Scheme announced by the government for Minorities and other weaker sections, while Minority Finance Corporation has set a target of 22000 beneficiaries for issuance of subsidy. As the government has permitted development corporations to accept applications till February 15 it is likely that the set quota for the scheme can be easily attained.
Under the scheme a target has been set for every bank in the city and districts by which they are bound to sanction loan for the applicants who fulfill the prescribed conditions.
Prof. S A Shukoor has appealed minorities to come forward to avail the scheme. A special counter has been set up in the office of Minority Finance Corporation for the guidance of candidates.
