The century old Osmania General Hospital which is one of the biggest hospitals of Asia has lost its glory. It has become safe haven for dogs and monkeys. Patients and their attendants say that except few doctors who are humane, the entire staff right from the doctors to Para medical staff and class IV employees all are corrupt and rude.
The hospital established to save the lives of patients has no life-saving medical equipments. MRI, CT scan, X-ray, and all other tools and equipments have either become obsolete or dysfunctional. Surprisingly according to medical experts all necessary medical equipments of the hospital have become outdated despite the fact that the government had allotted Rs/- 100 crore for purchase of equipment and to improve infrastructure.
A doctor on the condition of anonymity told that almost 90 percent of medical equipments in the hospital have become obsolete.
