Hyderabad: Finance and Civil Supplies Minister Etela Rajender assured in the State Assembly on Saturday that the Telangana Government would issue white ration cards along with the food security cards to all the eligible families who had applied for the same.
The Finance Minister’s assurance came in the wake of replying to a question on the subject raised by MIM members including Akbaruddin Owaisi. They wanted to know how many people have applied for the fresh ration cards and when they would be issued.
Providing details in this regard, the Finance Minister said in the 10 districts of the State the total number of applications received were 90,50,109 of which after scrutiny and verifications the eligible number of applications was found to be 90,16,329..
As per the district wise applications received provided in the statement furnished in the House, the number of applications received in Hyderabad was 9,72,172 of and after verification the number of eligible applications was found to be 8,11,574. The highest number of eligible applicants of 11,63,539 are from RR district while the lowest number of eligible applicants of 6,32,539 are from Nizamabad district. (NSS)
