9 units in AP to come up at Rs 7,000 cr : CM

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy today said four defence organisations were setting up nine units in the state at an outlay of Rs 7,000 crore. Speaking after laying the foundation stone for Surface to Air Missile Defence Project, organised by the Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) here, he said once these units are completed, they will provide direct employment to 10,000 youth while another 25,000 will get indirect employement. Union Minister of State for Defence Pallam Raju also participated in the function.

The Chief Minister thanked the Defence Minister A K Antony and Mr Pallam Raju for their efforts in setting up various units in the state in a big way. Mr Reddy said Public Sector undertakings like BDL were and Bharat Electronic Limited (BEL) were setting up three units followed by Electronic Corporation of India Limited (ECIL) with two units and Mishra Dhatu Nigam with a single unit.
