9 students from Loyola Academy held for street fight

Nine students were suspended for seven days by college authorities after caught fighting on CCTV camera of Loyala Degree and PG College at Old Alawal.

According to sources Simmering differences among some second and third-year degree students have led to street fights over juniors not showing enough respect to seniors.

The argument continued at a tea stall outside the campus which led to an all-out brawl between seniors and juniors. Scared locals alerted the police.

However, no police case has been registered. The alleged video grab shows the students running after one another and exchanging fisticuffs in the lanes near the college. Four second-year students and five third-year students were involved in the incident.

The college management has constituted an enquiry committee and directed the students to submit apology letters, besides giving a written undertaking not to indulge in such incidents again.
