9 RSS workers acquitted in murder case

A local court has acquitted nine RSS workers in connection with the murder of a CPI(M) activist T V Dasan of Parala near Kodiyeri-Thalassery The Thalassery Sessions court (Fast track) also directed that action must be taken against the police team which probed the case and recommended to disciplinary action at the department level. The court also directed the Kerala governement to conduct a probe to identify a court staff who had helped fabrication court records in the case.

Senior BJP leader and advocate P S Sreedharan Pillai appeared for BJP/RSS workers and submitted that the case was fabricated and the witness Ramakrishnan’s statement was inserted later, replacing the original.

The court examined his polea and found the charge to be true.

CPI(M) worker T V Dasan , a fish vendor was stabbed to death by a group of alleged BJP/RSS activists on August 28,1999. Police had arrested 11 persons, in which 2 BJP/ RSS activists P Thilakan (first accused) and Dinesh Babu (8th accused) died before the trial ended. UNI
