9 killed as a speedy lorry overturns

Armoor, April 28: 9 persons were killed in a tragic accident occurred at Nizamabad district. The accident occurred at Lakkora village under Velpur police station limits on National Highway 63 at nearly 5 am on Wednesday.

The accident occurred when the lorry in which they were travelling from Chittapur after attending a marriage function at bride’s house, overturned killing nine persons.

The victims include B Ramayya 18, Fathepur Lata 30, Noch 15, Shivkumar 10, Manasa 15, B Gangamani 38, Ganga Lakshmi 18, Bhooma 35 and Gangamani 13 months.

The accident left 39 others injured who are being treated at Armoor government hospital and private hospitals.

Lamentation prevailed at the hospitals due to groans and wailing of injured and relatives of the deceased while the lorry was totally damaged.

The travelers belonging to Aminapur were returning from a function at bride’s house a day before the marriage had to be taken place. The house which echoed with the music now echoed with the lamentation which left the whole village in deep sorrow.

Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy expressed his grief over the accident and conveyed his condolences to the families of the victims.
